We call MATSURI.

They get on same costume.

It is the traditional of Japan.

and printed ASOBIGOKORO on back side.

ASOBIGOKORO means enjoy your life.

Interest for politics

Election was held on this summer.

There were an election campaign when I went to Shibuya.

Everytime I ignored it.

But it is not.

Summer FES Vol.3

Last picture is the one.
It is a view of the back street. People walk holding hands.
It had a nice, at-home atmosphere, and I felt happy too.



The history of UCHIWA Festival.

うちわ祭は京都八坂神社の祇園まつりが夏祭りとして全国に広まったものの一つです。
平安時代(869年)「エキリ」と呼ばれる伝染病が流行したとき、
疫病退散の祈願を行った祇園御霊会(ぎおんごりょうえ)が祇園祭の起こり。
熊谷には文禄年間(1592年頃)京都の八坂神社を勧請し、その後愛宕神社に合祀されました。
熊谷の夏祭りが文書として残っているのは、江戸時代・1750年、
これによると町民から役人へ「夏祭りを各町内一斉に行うように」と願い出され、それが許可されました。
この頃から現在のうちわ祭りのような形態が作られたと考えられています。

1830年頃から、熊谷の祭は一層にぎやかになり、商店では買い物客に赤飯を振るまったといいます。
そしてこの「赤飯振舞」は熊谷の名物になって行きました。
うちわ祭りという名前が付いたのはこの後のことで、
泉屋横町の「泉州」という料亭が、手間の掛かる赤飯の代わりに江戸から買い入れた渋うちわを客に振る舞ったところ大変評判になり、どの商店でも赤飯の代わりにうちわを出すようになりました。
当時はうちわが生活必需品であり３銭の買い物にも５銭のうちわを振る舞ったことから、
その評判は大変だったようです。

It is an intangible folk cultural asset!

7th July 2013, I was shopping in Tokyo City.
First I went to the NATAL DESIGN's shop.
Second I searched for JUXTAPOZ Volume 20th bookstore.
But I didn't get it...sit...

And now summer sale in Tokyo.
I checked my favorite shops.
and then I take photo.
